Class Description:
This class is specially designed for younger students, entering 4th-6th grades. Explore many ways to create artwork using digital tools! Learn to use a digital tablet to draw and paint in the computer, learn to draw using vector based tools, create simple 2D animation, sculpt using virtual clay, and manipulate digital images.

This session’s RTIM class will be creating artwork and media themed around the winter season.
All the creative stages will be addressed; concept illustrations, designs, plans, actual imagery, signage, full scale visuals, music, sound effects and even some real 3D props and scenery.

Continue to develop techniques using the digital tablet to draw, paint and illustrate in the computer. Projects will explore different software applications and include both raster and vector drawing techniques. This class will emphasize both realistic and abstract styles, and is intended to help the student fully explore what is possible while encouraging further development of his/her own unique style.
Who should take this class:
This is a challenging class meant for students who already feel confident in their drawing and painting ability. Students who take this class should be comfortable using a drawing tablet, and have some experience using software such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

Learn how to utilize the diverse tools in Adobe Photoshop to combine photos, digital painting, text, shapes and more to create amazingly unique works of art. Class Description:
This class will focus on taking 2D graphics and adding motion to them, to create exciting, dynamic designs or to tell simple narratives. Students will learn how to break new or existing artwork into layers, how to develop the pacing and timing of their animated elements and how to add finishing touches such as special effects or post processes to give the animation the desired look and feel. This class will emphasize good composition, developing an eye for color relationships and good production habits.
Who should take this class:
Students who sign up for this class should be comfortable working with layers in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, and have a strong interest in creating art that moves.

In this class we will learn the basics of 3D – everything from basic modeling skills and materials and textures, to lighting and rendering a final image. From there we will explore basic techniques of animation, how to create an entire scene with good composition and camera work and talk about post production special effects.
Who should take this class:
Students that sign up for this class should have an understanding about working in 3D space on the computer. This could include some experience with a 3D program such as Google Sketchup, Sculptris or Blender or even a 3D sandbox game such as Minecraft or Garry’s Mod.
